Sophie Rosie

Hello, you.

Welcome to my blog. I write about life, career & work, fashion & style, as well as hopefully providing some inspiration to achieve some of your goals too! Enjoy xx

3 things I want to achieve in 2018.

3 things I want to achieve in 2018.

We're nearing the end of 2017, and before we even get started on 'how the hell is it nearly January again please??', it's the time of year when everyone starts to get a little reflective. We start thinking about everything that's happened in the last 12 months; what we've achieved, what maybe hasn't quite gone to plan, and what we want to change or have accomplished by this time next year. I wasn't going to make any resolutions this year, as I'm terrible at sticking to them. But then, I thought that maybe I should. With life a little up and down and unsettled, maybe I need to give myself a clear aim and focus - if only to give me something to keep my mind occupied. And so, as someone who is a sucker for a to-do list and refuses to leave anything unticked, I thought I'd write myself a 2018 to-do list, rather than make slightly washy resolutions in my head, in the hope that I'll have a much better chance of sticking to them.   T R A V E L I'm hoping 2018 is going to be my year of travel. Having not had a gap year or a long summer holiday since I was 17, I've never had a natural opportunity to go travelling. And while, if I'm honest, the typical year of travelling doesn't appeal to me, I do want to see more places. I want to try as many city breaks as possible. I want to conquer my travel fear and see some beautiful European cities that are quite literally on the UK's door step. Something that I've not quite taken advantage of just yet.

Budgeting & finances.

This is a big one for me that I absolutely want to get right next year. As an ex-accountant, you'd think I'd have my finances a little more in check than I do right now. Not to make excuses, but my move to London hit the little old bank account harder than expected, and I guess I've struggled to 'catch up' since.

Obviously, things are a lot more expensive in London than in the North West, and so I think I need to draw up a proper budget again and keep track of what I'm spending.

First task is to do exactly that; keep track. I'm going to spend a week or two just listing out everything that I buy. Every coffee, every train ticket, every totally-unnecessary-clothes-purchase, too, and then I'll go from there in allocating myself how much of my monthly salary I can spend on what - making sure to save some too, of course!

B L O G My main aim when it comes to my blog, is to be more consistent. I say this every. single. year. But in 2018, I'm really going to try and do it better. I'm going to try and write more posts in advance, chat about more daily life things, as well as hopefully kick-start a little project that I'm oh so very excited and motivated to share with you.   So, there we go. I do, naturally, have some other, slightly more personal things that I want to achieve next year. Things that will make me happier and improve my mental health - but those things are a little complicated to detail out in a blog post at the mo, I guess!

Do you guys have any resolutions or goals for next year?
