Hello, you! I'm Soph - a 22 year old girl currently living in Liverpool, spending most of her time writing, taking photo's, drinking coffee & trying not to eat too much cake.

Bold Street

A pretty wall on Bold Street. Just because.

As I'm sure most of you guys are too, I'm a huge fan of Hannah Gale and her blog. She's like the Internets best friend, one of my favourite online creators, and the kind of gal that I'd love to just sit down over coffee with and have a right good ol' chinwag. And, recently, I've noticed she's been talking about blogging going back to it's roots, particularly in this post right at the start of the year. Of blog posts not always having to be huge essays and deep life conversations (*guilty*), but more of little notes of 'hey, this is something that I really like today'.

So, this post is inspired by Hannah, because I took these photo's of the side of Love Thy Neighbour (an amazing cafe bar on Bold Street in Liverpool that you have to visit if you're ever here!) the other week, and I've been racking my brains ever since, trying to figure out a clever way to incorporate these into a longer blog post.

In fact, I was sat with these photo's in front of me with the working title of 'Bold Street' (mainly cause it's in big fat letters at the top of the wall), laughing to myself at how all creativity had apparently disappeared from my head. But do you know what, I'm not going to try and make this into a huge post. Instead, I'm just going to show you how cool this pretty pink wall is. Is that okay?

And because lets face it, avocado is bae.

  1. Love this post! I agree with you and Hannah, we should just share more things that just make us happy rather than posts that ALWAYS have to have a meaning. Also, the wall IS very pretty! ;)

  2. Ah this wall is amazing haha! It's so true though, I remember reading Hannah's post at the time and thinking I definitely need to stop worrying about posting big long essays when I just want to say hello on my blog or mention something quickly, but never really implemented it! Seeing how much I enjoyed such a short and chirpy post I definitely think I'm going to start doing a few more of my own! xx

    1. Haha, isn't it! I think that's what I do, too - worry about making a post into some sort of huge, well put together essay, when it really doesn't always have to be! I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for yours, Zara! :) xx

  4. I couldn't agree more, there shouldn't be so much pressure to post long, thought through content all the time :) Short, spontaneous ones can be just as meaningful. And this wall was definitely worth sharing, I love it x

    1. You're right, Sara! Short posts can most definitely be just as meaningful. I think I'm going to try and start doing more of these! x

  5. Blogging has definitely become long paragraphs and pretty pictures. I agree that sometimes it's cool just to post "this is what happened to me today and I just to share it" posts

  6. Thats such a good point, just sharing things you've loved that day or week is something I need to do more of over on my blog - this is such a lovely and natural post, and the photos of bold street are so pretty!

  7. I love this! Spotted this artwork while I was home from uni at christmas, definitley going to go and check out Love Thy Neighbour this week while I'm back. I agree with you and Hannah, blogging should return to its roots, I'm getting so used to writing massive essays on my own blog and would like a change.

  8. YES! I'm in several blog groups on Facebook and there is so much emphasis on creating LONG, quality content several times a week. It is intimidating AF. Especially when new bloggers come and say 'Oh, I do xyz and get xyz views a month'. I'm sitting here like WHAT. Sometimes you don't need to share some amazing, life changing thing. Sometimes you need to share something just because you love it.

..And Bold Street? Absolutely brilliant. I love the photos!
