A decluttered space, a decluttered mind.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

I've always been fascinated with the idea of simplicity and minimalism, of identifying what is essential to you, and then eliminating anything else that doesn't really matter.

I'm sure we've all read, or heard about, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying. A book written by Marie Kondo, who explains & shows you how transforming the space around you, can lead to transforming your life, so that you can start creating and living the life that you want.

SIMPLIFY YOUR SURROUNDINGS. SIMPLIFY YOUR MIND. SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE.

This week, I decided that I needed to declutter my life. I needed to declutter my wardrobe, declutter my stuff, and most definitely declutter my mind. I find that tidying and throwing things out is strangely therapeutic. It's like the physical act of tidying the space around me, helps me to clear things out in my head.

I find that when my surroundings are less busy and cluttered, it makes me so much more motivated and productive, and positive.

I've definitely made a lot of progress, and I feel so, so much better for it. I know that there is still a lot of 'stuff' that I could let go of, both physical & emotional, but I'm a bit of a sentimental soul, and it's one of the things that I find a little difficult.

But still, I'm most definitely enjoying this first step towards a more minimalist way of living. Next goal? A capsule wardrobe. That one may take me a little longer to conquer. I think I love clothes and shoes way too much...

  1. this is a good reminder that i need to do a bit of cleaning. i decluttered my wardrobe over the summer and donated most of my wardrobe as nothing was fitting me anymore. It was such a huge relief and i felt so mentally fresh. i too want to live more minimally. great post

  2. Loves this - I absolutely love having a good clear out and taking time to cleanse and get things all minimal. My wardrobe is next on my list too. It's overflowing with clothes I no longer wear! xx

  9. I'm quite fascinated by simplicity and decluttering as well. A few weeks ago I was watching tons of videos on it while decluttering my wardrobe and my entire room - I felt so good afterards! Honestly as if I just decluttered my mind :) Digital decluttering is also a good idea from time to time in my opinion x
