Hello Autumn.

So, apparently Autumn doesn't technically start until 22nd September, but it's the 1st today, the schools are all about to go back, x Factor, Strictly and GBBO are back on my TV, and Starbucks have released their pumpkin spiced latte's, so I'm calling it Autumn.

I love every season of the year. For me, Spring is all about new starts, Summer brings the sunshine and the warm evenings and the beautiful sunsets, and Winter treats us with snow and the festive season. But, there's just something about Autumn that I really love.

Maybe it's that sense of cosiness that comes with it. Being able to dig out your cosy knits, hats and scarves. Being able to enjoy a cup of tea around the fire and light all the candles in the flat. Or, maybe it's just the colour scheme. All of the mustard and berry red goodness.

Thinking about it, I guess the start of every season marks a new start. And recently, I've been trying to think of ways to change things up a bit when it comes to how I blog. Carrie is one of my most favourite bloggers, and she wrote a couple of week's ago about how she wants to start capturing more 'real life' moments, rather than all of the 'glossier' outfit posts. And do you know, I think that's what I want to do more of, again.

I mean, maybe not every day, because my life really isn't as exciting as Carrie's, but I think I want to start using my blog as a way of documenting what I get up to, and everything I do, rather than just all of the thoughts I have about random life topics.

Don't get me wrong, I love that I seem to have got into a rhythm of incorporating these life chats in with my fashion posts, because they're two of the things that I love the most, and you guys seem to like them too! But, I think I want to make my blog even more fun and a little more light hearted, and this might just be the way to do it.

I think we've all taken our blogging in different directions at some point, I know I certainly have. Some things have really worked and I've kept them up, and some things really haven't. But, you never know until you try, right?

So, at the start of my favourite season, I'm going to try something new. Who knows, maybe this will be my first and only post of the sort, but I guess we'll see!

And, before I leave this one here, can I just point out that I picked up this little gem of a bobble hat up in Primark at the weekend for £2. £2! I have a feeling I'm going to be wearing this A LOT over the coming months.

  2. As much as I will want to keep pushing the boundaries of Summer when I return from Gran Canaria mid-month, I have a strong feeling that it will be all chunky knit sweaters and PSL's instead!

  4. Even though I really do love summer I'm definitely ready for fall now as well :) I'm probably most excited for the leggings & oversized sweater combo haha.. so cosy! I'm looking forward to your upcoming posts this season & can't wait to see in which direction you're taking your blog x

  5. Ah I'm so excited about autumn and what with starting a new job and moving to a new city it really marks a new start for me as well! I just wish I could start digging out my cosy knits already but summer seems to be intent on staying a little while longer over here in Germany as it's still 30+° and a jumper is the last thing on my mind right now haha. xx

  6. I totally agree with you, every season marks a new start, so I'm making a fresh start too. I love this post! xxx

  7. I'm definitely trying a new direction with my blog too! I'm trying to encorporate more of creativity and work in alongside all of my more 'real life' posts. My thinking been that I don't really see life as being compartmentalised from work, so why should my blog be! Looking forward to seeing some more scrapbook/diary posts from you! Stephie xx
