Hello, you! I'm Soph - a 22 year old girl currently living in Liverpool, spending most of her time writing, taking photo's, drinking coffee & trying not to eat too much cake.

Feeling comfortable in my own skin.

Do you know what's really important? Feeling good about ourselves. Feeling comfortable in our skin, and being happy. I think it takes a long time to get to the point when we're 100%, well and truly happy with who we are, and what we look like. I also think it's a lot easier said than done, but it's something I've been really trying to work on.

Learning to accept yourself is hard. Like, really hard. Particularly when your natural reaction is to compare everything you've ever done to someone else, and let's not even get started on comparing how we look, and I'm sure we all do it.  But, it's important to channel these thoughts the right way.

Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world. - Lucille Ball

It's important to remember to be kind and gentle to ourselves, and to give ourselves a little break sometimes. Because we can. If there's one thing that I promised myself at the beginning of this year, it was to practise more self care and self love. To focus on the positives, to constantly move forward, and try and make sure my physical and mental health was the best it could be.

But, what is self love? I feel like this gets thrown around a lot, but no one really knows how to get there. Like learning to accept yourself, I think it means really getting to know... you. Get to know your boundaries, your values, and figure out what makes you feel good on your own, without anyone else to depend on.

Ultimately, it's up to us to be happy. We have the power to control whether we feel good today or not. No one else. You may not be in your dream job, or in the perfect relationship, or have that Givenchy handbag that you're convinced will make your life just that little bit better, but if you're happy, and confident, and comfortable in yourself, none of this will make a difference.

Physical health is just as important as mental health when it comes to being happy. Drink lots of water, exercise regularly, eat well and look after your skin. And, of course make sure you save time and room to treat yourself, too.

Right now, I feel happy. I feel good about myself and I feel comfortable in my own skin. I feel the most confident I think I ever have done and I feel like I'm starting to really figure things out.

Days like today are because I stop dwelling on the negatives. I stop being super hard on myself for the things that aren't quite going to plan. And I stop trying to impress anyone else but myself.

Don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self-worth. Only you can be responsible for that. - Stacey Charter

White & playful.

You can tell this outfit was from our first night in Santorini 'cause lol look at the colour of my legs. I was practically still reflecting the sun at this point.

The thing I love about going on holiday, is being able to dress things up a bit in the evening. It's an excuse to throw on a pretty dress, do your hair and make-up every night, and eat and drink as much as you can before a walk along the sea-front back to the hotel, right? Omg someone put me back on a plane please.

When I found this dress in Forever 21, I knew that it'd be perfect for Greece. It's light and floaty, white, and also has some cut-out detail to make it that little bit more playful.

I paired this white dress, with um, even more white. These New Look sandals are my new fave's, and they were definitely my 'most worn' during our time in Santorini. Although, everything else on the island was basically white too, so really I was just taking colour co-ordinating to a new level. ;)

I really love the cut, shape and fit of this dress. It made me feel super confident, particularly because the length was flattering, too. Normally, because I'm so short, dresses are a little longer on me, which can make my legs look even shorter, and no one wants that! And, if we excuse the bright pink sunburn on my chest, #palepeopleprobs, I used my red lipstick to add a pop of colour to my evening outfit.

If there's one thing I always try and make sure of when buying a holiday wardrobe, it's that I want to be able to wear the clothes somewhere other than the beach. I wore this dress to the office recently, adding a white vest underneath to cover up a little, and swapping my white heels for a pair of black ballet flats, and it worked perfectly!
