A day out. | Lyme Park, Cheshire.

I love day trips. There's so many wonderful places here in England, and quite honestly, I haven't seen enough of them. This weekend, Tasha and I decided to head across the m62 to Lyme Park, which is a large estate just south of Disley, in Stockport (or, just south of Manchester, if you're not familiar with the North too much!).

This place is huge. Like, seriously huge. So huge in fact, that everyone else seemed to be there for a day-long hike around the place, with walking boots, backpacks and those walking sticks that people use to like help them up hillsides? We, meanwhile, were equipped with only heeled boots, lipstick and Tasha's fedora, so it's safe to say we kinda stuck out. Just a little.

It quickly became apparent that we were in um, well, the wrong footwear to walk any kind of distance. (The grounds looked amazing though, and would have definitely made for a lovely walk.) So, what else than to head straight to the restaurant for coffee and cake, right?!

Okay, don't worry, we didn't spend the whole time in there, and not just 'cause there was no signal or wifi. Like, seriously, we actually had to make conversation. ;) We did just stay around the house and the gardens though, but they were so pretty we were quite content snapping all the photo's around here. There was still plenty to take in!

Unfortunately, the house itself wasn't open due to it still being low season, which was a bit of a shame considering how freezing it was on Sunday! It started off being such a lovely day, and then all of a sudden this icy wind appeared from no where and omg I couldn't feel my fingers for a good 2 hours.

But, in good blogger style, we also managed to snap our outfits. Obvs. I was going to try and get another post out of it but I thought I'd just throw the photo's into this post instead. I'll detail what I'm wearing at the bottom of the post, if you're interested!

We had such a lovely day, it probably would have been a little better if it wasn't so windy and cold, but I guess that's pretty much just England! The whole place was so beautiful and grand, and all the volunteer staff were super lovely and helpful, which was really great considering the first thing we needed when we got there was directions to the ladies. Typical.

  7. I'm so glad you liked it! (I'm the one on twitter that said I used to volunteer there) ;) I didn't think about the house not being open, that's such a shame - you'll have to make another trip there in the warmer weather! Did you spot any deer there and see the Mr Darcy lake at the back? x

I'd never even thought about it but it is the perfect location for outfit photos - so insta-worthy! Definitely head back in the warmer weather when the gardens are in bloom - it's stunning!
