Hello, you! I'm Soph - a 22 year old girl currently living in Liverpool, spending most of her time writing, taking photo's, drinking coffee & trying not to eat too much cake.

A mind dump.

I've been thinking A LOT recently. I know, I know, those of you that know me are gonna be thinking, what's new Soph? You think all the bloody time. But for some reason, things have buzzing round in this head of mine a little more than normal.

So, I'm going to go back to my old style posts. The ones where I kinda just write. A mind dump, kinda thing. And well, add a few pretty photo's in there just y'all don't get too bored...

It's funny how things change, don't you think? How life can throw things at you that you least expect. How all of a sudden you're not entirely sure what you want anymore. Some of these things are influenced by other people and other things, but sometimes, it comes from you. You have these thoughts pop into your mind, and even you sit there and think, 'where the bloomin' hell did that come from?!'

It's funny how one little thing, that is totally irrelevant and meaningless at the time, can lead to something else that ends up meaning a lot to you. Do you ever sit and think of an event that happened, a situation you were in, or someone you have met, and think back to all the little things that led up to that very moment or meeting that person? I do, a lot.

And it's thinking about this, that particularly in the last year or so, has led me to believe so, so much in fate. I am a firm believer that, as cliché as it is, everything happens for a reason. There's lessons to be learnt behind everything that happens to you, and everyone that walks in, and out, of your life. Sometimes these reasons can take a little longer to make themselves known than others. Sometimes it's hard to try and find the good in a bad situation, but there will be a reason and a lesson.

It might feel so totally, utterly and completely crap at the time, but the not-so-great things that happen and the mistakes that we make are only going to teach us something. They're going to enable us to become wiser, and stronger, and know exactly what to look out for so that we don't make the same bloomin' mistake again.

If you haven't clicked off this yet then kudos 'cause I'm still not sure where I'm trying to go with this...

I also think about how many great things have happened in the last year that I never expected. The people I've met and have begun talking to. Contacts that I've made and the experiences that I've gained. I've started a new way of thinking, and have taken risks that are so out of my comfort zone, the Soph 12 months ago would've thought that I've completely lost it.

But that's just all part of the fun.

I've started to try and not steer clear from change, like I used to, and instead embrace it and all the new people and experiences that come along with it. Because at the end of the day, if we don't try, we don't know what we might just be missing out on, right?

Soph

  2. <3 I am a believer of fate too, and everything does happen for a reason, even if the reason isn't apparent yet. I hope more great things happen for you this year :D
