A little bit vintage...

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm constantly wishing I was born in a different era. The 20's being one of my favourites... the fashion, the music, the dancing, oh goodness, I think I'd fit right in!
I just love how elegant and beautiful the women and girls always look in the photo's, and I always love to incorporate a little bit of this into my wardrobe when I can.

I've never been a big 'vintage' shopper, but after yesterday, I might have just been converted. I have one other vintage piece in my wardrobe, and thats a lovely pleated skirt that I can wear to either work, casually with flats while I'm shopping, or I can whack my white heels on with it for a night out! I love it! So why it took me until yesterday to head back towards the vintage shops is beyond me... I think I just get way too distracted in TopShop to look any further!

The first thing I spotted in the shop was the gorgeous coat. Now, I know we're still in August and at the height of summer, BUT I just love coats. And if I'm honest, I can not wait to get back into wrapping up in a big coat and cosy scarf... I'm just being super organised for when that time arrives. ;)

I love this coat so much. It is a little, okay a lot, oversized, but that's one of the things I love about it. I love the colour and the feel of it. I have a camel coat that I picked up from New Look last year that I've always said would be my favourite, but I think this one might have just overtaken it! The length for me, is just perfect, it's plenty big enough to fit over the many layers I end up wearing in winter, and I'll definitely be able to fit a scarf under there too!

The next thing I spotted and made an absolute beeline for before anyone else could pick it up, was this beautiful bag. I've been looking for a new bag for a few weeks now, and even though I normally go for a slightly bigger day-to-day handbag (I carry a lot of stuff!), I knew I just had to have this one. It was just perfect!

I feel like this is going to be the bag that I take pretty much everywhere from now on, the colour is so versatile, and I don't know whether this is going to be a really weird thing to say, but I love the actual feel of the leather of the bag! I don't think I've ever had a leather bag before, so this is new!

It's also surprisingly spacious! Like, I mentioned, it's still probably a lot smaller than my other bags, but there are actually plenty of little zip pockets and compartments inside, as well as a very handy larger zip pocket on the back. Cause y'know, a girls handbag needs to be organised!

Okay, so after swooning over this bag for a while, the last item I bought yesterday was this blouse. I posted a photo on Instagram the other day, of a blouse that I felt channelled my inner Blair Waldorf. I love, love, love Blair's style, and I think this blouse adds to my little Blair style collection!

The blouse does button right up, however, I do feel like I'm playing Tudor dress up when I do, but who knows, one day I might go out rocking this look! But for now, I'm happy leaving it slightly open at the top. There's so much lace detail on this blouse which I absolutely love, and I feel so super girly in it!

Also, you can not go wrong with a white blouse! Here, I'm wearing it with jeans, however, I think it would great with shorts, a pencil skirt for work, as well as under some of my dresses, as it still wouldn't hide too much of the pretty detailing.

I'm so in love with all of these 3 pieces, and I can't wait to wear them out! I also can't wait to discover some more vintage shops in Liverpool so I can also grab my hands on some more lovely items! Let me know if you know of any!

Do you have any vintage pieces in your wardrobe?

  1. This outfit is stunning, I love that shirt.
My wardrobe used to be mainly vintage pieces but its dwindled to just a few pieces. I want to grow the collection again.

    1. Thank you Jenn :) I think I'm going to try the same, there's just some lovely pieces out there :) x

  2. I love all three pieces, but especially the coat- it looks so cosy and stylish for the colder months! There are definitely some great finds in vintage shops, plus its good fun to have a rummage and not know what you're going to find :)

I get so excited when I pick up something vintage and it just fits you amazingly (because nothing is *ever* in my size) and your whole look is amazing! Can't wait to see you style it in proper winter!

  5. I love this outfit! I bought a top that apparently was from the 70's last year and I love it! It is like a white bat wing crop top with gold triangles. It looks really cute on and I love it! I don't know if I am a fully converted vintage shopper, but it is a start I suppose!

  13. The 20's are also one of my favorite decades! And your coat and blouse look lovely on you, Soph! I still need to venture on vintage shops, but I'm pretty sure there's not even one near where I live… Hope you're having a great sunday :) x

  14. I love your choices! Especially the blouse, it's so cute!

  15. You really got some beautiful stuff! I do love vintage stuff but there isn't many shops near me to get anything like this. Absolutely love that coat though x

  16. You literally look amazing! And you look like a 20's siren ❤️ I bet you'd have been amazing in that time because you have such a soft complexion. That coat is also to die for!

  17. Getting all of the Wes Anderson vibes from that coat.
